The Stigma
Identity: ___________
Accuracy: 3- adrenaline rush
Mobility: 5- viral infection
Toughness: 3- calloused skin, 2- hyper metabolism
Might: 4- miasma of decay
Brains: 2- memory (data) retrieval
Senses:
*earned 3xp?
Superpower finesse: 2-infect
Weakness: Transferring hosts is always disorienting. If a host is killed Stigma may well die with it.
Strainpoints: 6
Lifepoints: 6
Relations: nil
Description of talents:
Adrenaline Rush (3- accuracy ?should this be might?): The Stigma causes a rush of adrenaline to flow through its host, allowing for a powerful fast and vicious blow. (The exact nature of the type of blow varies but is usually in melee.) Similarly Stigma can attempt to cause an adrenalin rush in a none host body, by touching them, any 5's or 6's supply the companions next attack with a bonus die.
- maybe the later is too potent and should really require another talent like - bestow adrenaline rush? Even rank 2 might allow touch, rank 3 short visual range.
Viral infection (5- mobility): The Stigma has no true form, it is actually a conscious disease that passes itself from host to host. Thus far it seems to have no means of duplicating itself or splitting its consciousness. Rather it transfers itself entirely by touch. A roll that results in a 6 allows the Stigma to transfer itself almost instantly to a new host that it has touched, otherwise the immune system of the potential host is resistant and takes longer to break into.
Taking an individual with strainpoints as a host is virtually impossible, though ‘attacking’ them in this way might be distracting.
Hyper Metabolism (2 -toughness): Anytime The Stigma transfers to a new host he is eligible to expend a strainpoint to recover 2 lifepoints.
Calloused skin (3- toughness): The Stigma hardens the skin of its host to resist blows.
Miasma of decay (4- might): The Stigma can create an area of effect that is oppressive and degenerative to living organisms. Plants wilt and humans are disoriented. The stigma is able to direct the effect as he chooses (affecting multiple targets if desired) but can roll only a maximum of 3 dice, he can select any target within about 40ft.
-the best defense is not breathing? Or a health/healing related talent
Data Retrieval (2- brain): This ability is relatively crude, but it allows The Stigma to retrieve some information from its host, so that it is better able to mimic that individual’s stance, speech and mannerisms. A lucky roll might provide knowledge of recent activities and names of close friends.
Background and personality:
The Stigma views itself as an incarnation of the natural world and acts to protect what it sees as ‘nature’.
While its consciousness is rather alien, the Stigma observed humanity for some time before becoming active. It occasionally introduces itself by the name of _______ or _________.
Attitude towards hosts?
Depending on the duration of The Stigma’s occupation of a host, once it leaves the human tends to feel exhausted, and often times falls into a deep sleep.
Appearance:
(Adrakis campaign) - construct
Aneesh
Group: Counter-insurgents (a place holder for the moment)
Orientation: shades of grey
Role: versatile (should I be more specific?)
Conceptually the Stigma makes a good antagonist, particularly one the protagonists feel sympathy for.
