On his last action Big B used his Might 4-gluey grapple to hold the Construct, and the Construct was unable to break free. Now Big B wants to hold the Construct steady so Templar can rain a deadly barrage of blows (using Templars Might 5-tempest) onto vulnerable spots of the Construct.
Big B and Templar pool their dice, for a total of 9 dice, and remove 1 for the act of pooling. This does however have the drawback of allowing the construct to use two talents as well. He employs his might- x - x to prevent Big B from holding him in vulnerable position and adds his Toughness- 5-x trait to resist the force of Templars blows.
Big B and Templar roll 8 dice versus the Constructs 7?
Gambits like this with high dice counts on each side tend to either be wildly successful or largely ineffective.
If Big B and Templar tried this technique on someone with a very different set of talents it would likely be much more effective. If used against their fellow hero The Granite, he has no appropriate traits to combine against such an attack, and would just roll his toughness.
